Peggy Noonan is Back!

Peggy Noonan is right on target with her deconstruction of the "Democrat Rules for Speech-Talking and General Explination-ing"

After losing interest in her writings lately, she's got my attention again.

(vid) The Morning After...

Watching Bill Clinton last night, two things came to mind (okay, more than two things ... but here are two of the things that came to mind)

My first thought is that Bill did what Hillary couldn't, or wouldn't, do. That is, give a full-throated, personal endorsement for Barak Obama as President of the United States. (although, there seemed to be a couple of parts there where even Bill Clinton had to choke it out)

My next thought was of Joe Isuzu. You know, this guy...

Certainly Bill's speech was well-delivered and well-received (understatment). Joe Biden started out rough, but picked it up in the end.

But as to the content - geez - there were so many distortions, whoppers, and flat-out lies. I was transported to a different time; a simpler time when suv's were a new concept and cost less than $7500 new, with 0% financing and up to $1200 cash back. sigh...

(vid)The Media Agrees: I Drink Your Milkshake!

We all remember that memorable scene at the end of "There Will Be Blood" where the oil man 'splains to the radio preacher why he doesn't need to by his land...

Here's a fine young fellow portaying the salient passage:

You could say the same type of thing is happening to the Democrats...

Many mainstream media outlets are reporting signifincant number of Democrats, turned off by Obama, are going to vote for McCain.
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/08/26/clinton.delegates/
http://www.startribune.com/opinion/commentary/27505279.html?elr=KArksc8P:Pc:UHDaaDyiUiD3aPc:_Yyc:aUU
http://www.gallup.com/poll/105691/McCain-vs-Obama-28-Clinton-Backers-McCain.aspx

How could this be? Well, it's like this...

DRAAAAINAGE!
You see, Dems have Voters;
Reeps have Voters;
Dems are on the Left with Obama;
Reeps are on the Right with McCain (see, there they are - on the right);
And John McCain reaches aaaalllllllllll the way across the aisle;
And DRINKS DEMS' MILKSHAKE

He drinks it up!

So, where can I pick up my McCain Milkshake Drinkin' Straw? ;)

UPDATED: Can Clinton Delegates Force Obama to Take On Clinton as Veep?

The DNC is abuzz right now with news of delegates gathering enougth signatures to force Hillary Clinton as the Vice-President nominee.

Hmmm...

on "Cavuto" - Fox News now...

UPDATE: The Hillary supporters are p*ssed.  uh-oh, one of the Super-delegates is Gloria Alred, Hillary supporter.  She was denied the opportunity to address the body and so she left in a huff with her skarf as a gag.  Hillary people are marching outside the hall... Petitions are flying...

I guess they really didn't like being called "18 million cracks in the glass ceiling."  Nice goin', Michelle!

UPDATE: HA- I guess Hillary was the first one to call her voters "cracks" ... but at least they were'nt "little cracks!"  My bad.
Seriously, I think the ticket will only be resolved for real until after the roll call.  Good luck, Biden!

McCain Shines at Tonight Show (video)

John McCain was a hit on last night's Tonight Show.

He was sharp, funny, engaging, congenial, upbeat, and totally stayed on-message.

It was a terrific performance, and a considerable counterpoint the the DNC's heart-tugging drama of an opening night.

But don't take my word for it... watch it yourself:

Part 1

Part 2

Good job, guys -- keep it up!

Is Hillary Clinton the Next Ted Kennedy?

Ted Kennedy never could quite get his party's nomination for President

Same with Hillary

Ted Kennedy's close friend, Mary Jo Kapeckne, died under sad, mysterious circumstances

Same with Hillary with and Vince Foster

Ted Kennedy has made Universal Health Care his biggest cause

Same with Hillary

Ted Kennedy has suffered under the overwhelming shadow of the considerable accomplishments of his family

Same with Hillary with Bill Clinton

Hmmmm what else...

Both supported the initial invasion of Afganistan
Both opposed the US action in Iraq
Both opposed the troop surge in Iraq
Both opposed the Patriot Act (specifically, "warrantless wiretapping")

But all that could just be because they both Democrat Senators

I wonder what other traits they share?

A 'Present ' for Obama

What would happen if delegates, unhappy with the presumptive outcome of Obama, voted "present" in lieu of making an actual vote?
